What we believe

Word of God

We believe the Bible is the fully inspired Word of God. It is without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Mark 13:31; John 8:31, 32; John 20:31; Acts 20:32

Trinity

We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are equal in their essential nature, attributes and perfection and execute different, but harmonious functions. Scripture: Genesis 1:1, 26; John 1:1, 3; Matthew 28:19; John 4:24; Romans 1:19, 20; Ephesians 4:5-6

God the Father

We believe in God the Father, infinite, yet personal, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He orders, arranges and controls all things according to His own sovereign purposes. He infallibly knows all that shall come to pass, He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of each person, He hears and answers prayer, and He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. Scripture: Luke 10:21, 22; Matthew 23:9; John 3:16; 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Timothy 1:1-2; 2:5-6; 1 Peter 1:3; Revelation

1:6

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ has always existed and is the eternal Son of God who became man in order to reveal God and redeem man. He was supernaturally conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He combined full and undiminished deity with perfect humanity. He lived a sinless life and freely offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sins through death on the cross. After He rose from the dead, He ascended into heaven to the right hand of God the Father and He constantly intercedes on our behalf. Anyone who believes in Him has eternal life. He will someday return to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Scripture: Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1; 20:28; Romans 9:5; 8:46; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:21-23; John 20:30, 31; Matthew 20:28; Ephesians 1:4; Acts 1:11; Romans 5:6-8; 6:9-10; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Timothy 3:16

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and Son, and is present to expose the guilt of man in regard to sin, righteousness and judgment. He causes spiritual rebirth and sanctifies and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. Scripture: John 14:16-17, 26; John 16:8-14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Galatians 5:22- 26

Salvation

We believe man was created by God in His own image; that he sinned and thereby incurred physical, spiritual and eternal death. This brings separation from God, that as a consequence, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners by choice and therefore under condemnation. Those who repent and forsake sin and trust in Jesus Christ are saved. We become new creatures, are delivered from condemnation, and receive eternal life. Scripture: Genesis 1:26; 5:2-3; 2:17; Ecclesiastes 2:11; John 3:14; 5:24, 30; 7:13; 8:12; 10:26; Romans 9:22; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Revelations 19:3, 20; 14:15; 21:18; Psalm 51:7; Jeremiah 17:9; James 1:14; Romans 3:19; 5:19; Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:9; John 1:13; 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 8:1

Church

We believe all who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body, the church, of which Christ is the head. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by building its members up in the faith, by instruction of the word, by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances and by advancing and communicating the gospel to the entire world. Scripture: Ephesians 2:19-22; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:19- 21; Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:23-25

Christian Living

We believe a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well being of his fellow man. That we should chase after a life worthy of the calling we received and to strive for full maturity in Christ. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:31; Romans 12:1-3; Hebrews 12:1, 2; John 14:15, 23, 24; 1 John 2:3- 6; 2 Corinthians 9:6-9; 1 Corinthians 4:2; Colossians 1:9, 10

Ordinances

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ laid out two foundational practices (referred to ordinances) for the local church to follow until he returns; baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Christian baptism is when a believer is fully immersed in water, signifying the death of your old self and old way of life and being resurrected as a new creation in Christ. This is a public testimony of the believer’s new life in Christ. The Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. The elements of communion are symbolic of the body and blood of Jesus Christ. These two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture: Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Eternity

Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. We will either live forever in heaven with God, through forgiveness and salvation, or forever suffering in hell, separated from God by sin. Scripture: Matthew 16:27; Mark 14:62; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; Philippians 3:20; 1 Thessalonians 4:15; 2 Timothy 4:1; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 4:5; 15; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15
